Celebrating English Language Day: A Brilliant Finale of Talent and Words

On Wednesday, April 23, 2025, our school joyfully celebrated English Language Day through two major events: the grand finales of the Spelling Bee and the Public Speaking Contest. It was an exceptional afternoon dedicated to eloquence, knowledge, and creativity, organized with the valuable support of Calliope.
The ceremony began on a warm and solemn note with a speech by the principal, Mr. Hassan Mani, who welcomed all participants, teachers, parents, and students. He highlighted that celebrating this day has become a well-established tradition in our school and extended heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to its success, with a special mention to Calliope for its invaluable support.
The first competition was the Spelling Bee, bringing together 12 students from 5th and 6th AEP. After a series of demanding spelling challenges, Mohamed Khalid claimed first place, followed by Arwa Hida (2nd) and Arij Lamzah (3rd).
Next, the stage welcomed 12 finalists from middle and high school for the grand finale of the Public Speaking Contest. Nouha Kadi won first prize, Rim El Kaddaoui came in second, and Maroua Bentayeb secured third place.
Between these two highlights, the audience—made up of teachers, parents, and students—enjoyed a moving artistic interlude: a lively dance performed by primary students Sirine Ousslim, Rawane El Hafi, Manar Khiri, Souha Kadiri, Arwa Hida, and Chanaze El Basri; a delicate piano piece by Redae Hsini; and an impressive violin performance by Jacob Larguet.
All participants were awarded certificates of participation, as were the jury members—Siham Saadi, Chahida Nhari—and the teachers Sanae Ourahma, Karima Aziz, and Ibtissam Nouali, who guided the competitions with dedication throughout the preliminary and final rounds.
This wonderful success illustrates the importance of collaborative work between the school and its educational partners like Calliope, all in support of students’ development and the promotion of language learning.
