Vendredi 08 novembre 2024

Meeting with Fiona Lauriol
Raising Awareness on the Right of Older Adults to Live Their Final Years with Dignity and Fulfillment
Friday, November 8, 2024

On Friday, November 8, the school Les Élites organized a meeting with Fiona Lauriol, author of the book “101 Grandma Hits the Road.”
This book, soon to be adapted into a movie, is based on a 15,000 km journey she undertook with her 100-year-old maternal grandmother, Dominique, and her parents, Fosca and Thierry, in a camper van.
After this two-year road trip with her grandmother, Fiona and her parents embarked on a mission to meet people of all ages to raise awareness about the overprotection of older adults and the importance of supporting them.
Today, they made a stop at our school.
In front of around twenty students and their teachers, Fiona shared anecdotes about her grandmother.
It was a way to remind young people that we are all aging and that we all hope to age with dignity and respect.
Consequently, it’s essential to maintain social connections with our elders.
As she said, “there’s no age limit to enjoying life.”
